Genesis G90 Lemon Law
If your Genesis G90 flagship was recalled for a fuel-pipe fire risk, or has electrical and drivability faults, you deserve better in a top-tier luxury sedan. If it can't be fixed, your G90 may qualify as a California lemon.
The Genesis G90 fuel-pipe fire problem
Genesis recalled G90 vehicles (part of NHTSA recall 26V229000) because the high-pressure crossover fuel-pipe fasteners can loosen, allowing fuel to escape and raising the risk of an engine fire. Dealers inspect and tighten the fasteners or replace the pipe if a leak is found.
As Genesis's flagship, the G90 carries high expectations — and electrical, infotainment, and software complaints, or a fuel-leak fire risk, fall well short of them.
A recall isn't automatically a lemon. But if the repair is delayed, doesn't resolve the problem, or your G90 is out of service for an extended time, California's Lemon Law may entitle you to a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement — with Genesis paying your attorney fees.
Commonly Reported Genesis G90 Problems
Not every Genesis G90 is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.
Is Your Genesis G90 a Lemon?
A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your G90 has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.
If your Genesis G90 qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and Genesis pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.

Was the Genesis G90 recalled for a fire risk?
Yes. Genesis recalled G90 vehicles (NHTSA 26V229000) because the crossover fuel-pipe fasteners can loosen and leak fuel, raising engine-fire risk. Confirm your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is a recurring G90 defect a lemon?
It can be. A fuel-leak fire risk is a serious safety defect. If it can't be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts, or your G90 is out of service for an extended time, you may have a California lemon law claim, with Genesis paying your attorney fees.
What can I recover for a defective G90?
Potentially a buyback (a refund minus a mileage offset), a replacement, or a cash-and-keep settlement — plus your attorney fees paid by Genesis, at no cost to you.
