Because Jaguar Land Rover North America opted into California’s AB 1755 procedures, the filing window on a Land Rover claim is shorter than most owners realize: generally one year from your warranty’s expiration, and no later than six years from the vehicle’s original delivery date. That is materially tighter than the four-year rule that applies to manufacturers who did not opt in — and several competing firms still publish the four-year figure for Land Rover. If your warranty has lapsed or is close to it, the clock is the first thing to check, not the last.
Land Rover occupies a peculiar place in the lemon-law world: the vehicles cost as much as a house deposit and break like a much cheaper car. My Range Rover has been at the dealer for over a month waiting on parts. Do I have a claim?
Very likely. California asks whether the vehicle has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days for warranty repair — and it does not ask why. Days spent waiting for a part still count. Land Rover owners frequently cross that threshold without realizing they have.
The dealer says air suspension problems are normal for a Land Rover. Is that right?
It is not a legal answer. There is no luxury-SUV exception in the Song-Beverly Act. If the suspension defect is substantial and cannot be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, JLR owes you a buyback, a replacement, or a settlement.
