My Polestar will not charge. Is that enough for a claim?
It is about as substantial a defect as an EV can have. A car that cannot charge cannot be used. If the problem persists after a reasonable number of repair attempts — or the car sits waiting for parts — you likely have a claim.
There are barely any Polestar service centers near me. Does that help my case?
It often does. California counts the days your vehicle is out of service for warranty repair, and it does not ask why. If a thin service network and long parts waits push you past 30 cumulative days, that is a statutory basis for a claim regardless of how minor the underlying part may seem.
How long do I have to file a Polestar claim?
Longer than most. Polestar has not opted into California’s AB 1755 procedures, so the traditional four-year statute of limitations applies, running from when you discovered or should have discovered the defect. That is a more generous window than GM, Ford, Hyundai or Stellantis owners get.
Does a software update count as a repair attempt?
