Genesis Fuel-Pipe Fire Recall: Your California Lemon Law Rights

Genesis has recalled 94,760 vehicles (NHTSA recall 26V229000, Genesis reference 033G) over a fuel-system defect that can leak fuel and raise the risk of an engine fire. Here's what the recall covers, what to do, and when a recall like this can become a California lemon law claim.

What the recall covers

The recall affects the 2021–2025 G80 and GV80, the 2022–2026 GV70, and the 2023–2025 G90. The fasteners securing the high-pressure crossover fuel pipe that bridges the two fuel rails can work loose, allowing fuel to escape and raising the risk of an engine fire. Kia issued a parallel recall for the same defect on the Carnival.

When this recall can become a lemon
