Kia Carnival Lemon Law
If your Kia Carnival minivan was recalled for a fuel-pipe fire risk, or has transmission and electrical faults, you shouldn't have to worry about your family vehicle. If it can't be fixed, your Carnival may qualify as a California lemon.
The Kia Carnival fuel-pipe fire problem
Kia recalled about 141,032 model year 2022–2026 Carnival minivans (NHTSA 26V232000) because the high-pressure crossover fuel-pipe fasteners can loosen, allowing fuel to escape and raising the risk of an engine fire. Dealers inspect and tighten the fasteners or replace the pipe if a leak is found — it's the same defect Genesis addressed across its lineup.
Carnival owners also report transmission, electrical, and sliding-door complaints. A fuel-leak fire risk in a family minivan is a serious safety defect.
A recall isn't automatically a lemon. But if the repair is delayed, doesn't resolve the problem, or your Carnival is out of service for an extended time, California's Lemon Law may entitle you to a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement — with Kia paying your attorney fees.
Commonly Reported Kia Carnival Problems
Not every Kia Carnival is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.
Is Your Kia Carnival a Lemon?
A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your Carnival has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.
If your Kia Carnival qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and Kia pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.
