Polestar 3 Lemon Law
Talk to a Polestar lemon law attorney — your Polestar 3 may qualify for a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement.
The Polestar 3 is a promising electric SUV, but early build years have drawn a string of safety recalls — from a rearview camera that won't display in reverse to hardware that can come loose. If yours keeps going back for the same problem, you may have a California lemon.
The Polestar 3 recall and software problems
Polestar recalled 2025 Polestar 3 SUVs (built roughly March 2024 through April 2025) because a software fault can stop the center display from automatically showing the rearview camera image when you shift into reverse — cutting rear visibility exactly when you're backing up. Polestar's remedy is a software update, delivered over-the-air or, if that fails, wired at a retailer.
The Polestar 3 has also been recalled for hardware that can come loose: a hood "wing" front bumper that may be missing bolts and could detach, striker brackets that secure the rear-seat backrest that may be loose, and a high-to-low voltage converter module (HLCM) that dealers are replacing. Owners also report the kind of software and connectivity lag common to first-year EVs.
When a safety defect keeps returning after repair attempts — or several separate defects stack up and keep the SUV in the shop — California's Lemon Law may entitle you to a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement, with Polestar paying your attorney fees.
Commonly Reported Polestar 3 Problems
Not every Polestar 3 is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.
Is Your Polestar 3 a Lemon?
A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your 3 has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.
If your Polestar 3 qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and Polestar pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.

Was my Polestar 3 recalled?
Several 2025 Polestar 3 recalls exist — a rearview-camera software fault, a hood wing bumper that may be missing bolts, loose rear-seat backrest striker brackets, and a high-to-low voltage converter module replacement. Confirm which apply to your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
The recall fix didn't hold — is my Polestar 3 a lemon?
It may be. A safety defect that keeps coming back after a reasonable number of repair attempts — or several unresolved defects that keep the SUV in the shop — is what the Lemon Law addresses. You could be owed a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement, with Polestar paying your attorney fees.
What can I recover for a defective Polestar 3?
Potentially a buyback (a refund minus a mileage offset), a replacement, or a cash-and-keep settlement — plus your attorney fees paid by Polestar, at no cost to you.
