Aston Martin Vantage Lemon Law

The most notable documented defect on the current Vantage is an infotainment fault it shares with its stablemates. Aston Martin recalled certain 2025 Vantage vehicles (NHTSA campaign 25V001, roughly 1,452 U.S. cars alongside the DB12 and DBX707) because the infotainment home-screen menu can cover the rearview camera image when the car is shifted into reverse, blocking the backup view and disabling the on-screen camera controls. The remedy is a head-unit software update to restore the required rear visibility.

Owners also report a wider set of Vantage complaints beyond that recall: hesitation, harshness, or clunks from the transmission and driveline, infotainment and connectivity glitches, and intermittent warning lights that send the car back to the dealer. Aston Martin has a long recall history on earlier Vantage transmissions as well, so drivetrain behavior is worth documenting carefully whenever the car doesn't shift or drive as it should.

California's Lemon Law is not limited to a single recall. If a warranty-covered defect substantially impairs your Vantage's use, value, or safety and Aston Martin has had a reasonable number of chances to fix it — or the car has been out of service for a long stretch — you may be entitled to a buyback, a replacement, or a cash settlement, with the manufacturer covering your attorney fees. That holds true for the recalled camera glitch or for any persistent electronic or drivetrain fault.

A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your Vantage has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.
