Maserati GranTurismo Lemon Law
Talk to a Maserati lemon law attorney — your Maserati GranTurismo may qualify for a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement.
If your latest-generation Maserati GranTurismo has stalled unexpectedly, shown a wrong fuel level, gone dark on the backup camera, or — in the electric Folgore — thrown drivetrain or charging faults, you're not alone. If Maserati can't fix the problem after a reasonable number of tries, your GranTurismo may qualify as a California lemon.
The GranTurismo engine-stall and electronics problem
The redesigned GranTurismo (and its GranCabrio convertible) launched for 2023–2024 with a heavily software-controlled architecture, and one of its most serious defects is a body control module (BCM) software fault. Maserati recalled GranTurismo and GranCabrio models because the BCM could display an incorrect fuel level on the digital cluster, which can lead to an unexpected engine stall while driving — a clear safety hazard corrected by a software update at the dealer.
The GranTurismo has also been caught up in Maserati's rearview-camera recalls, in which a Central Vision Park Assist Module (CVPAM) or infotainment software fault can prevent the backup camera image from appearing when the car is shifted into reverse. Owners additionally report frozen screens, connectivity dropouts, warning lights, and 12-volt battery drain typical of this electronics-dense platform.
The GranTurismo is also sold as the all-electric Folgore, which adds a tri-motor drivetrain, a high-voltage battery, and charging hardware — more systems that can fault with drive-power warnings or charging failures. When a software update or dealer repair doesn't hold, the same defect keeps returning, or the car sits waiting on parts, California's Lemon Law may entitle you to a buyback or replacement.
Commonly Reported Maserati GranTurismo Problems
Not every Maserati GranTurismo is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.
Is Your Maserati GranTurismo a Lemon?
A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your GranTurismo has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.
If your Maserati GranTurismo qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and Maserati pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.

My GranTurismo stalled or showed a wrong fuel level — is it a lemon?
It may be. An unexpected engine stall is a serious safety defect, and Maserati recalled the GranTurismo over a BCM software fault tied to a false fuel reading. If the repair doesn't fix the problem after a reasonable number of attempts, or your car is out of service for an extended time, you may be owed a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement — with Maserati paying your attorney fees.
Does the GranTurismo Folgore EV qualify under California's Lemon Law?
Yes. Electric vehicles like the GranTurismo Folgore are covered the same as gas cars. If the drivetrain, high-voltage battery, charging system, or software has a defect Maserati can't repair after a reasonable number of tries, the Folgore can qualify as a lemon. Keep your repair records and get a free case review.
What can I recover for a defective GranTurismo?
Potentially a buyback — a refund of what you've paid minus a mileage offset — a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement, plus your attorney fees paid by Maserati. There is no cost to you to pursue a claim.
