Lincoln Nautilus Lemon Law

Talk to a Lincoln lemon law attorney — your Lincoln Nautilus may qualify for a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement.

If your Lincoln Nautilus panoramic display or center touchscreen keeps rebooting and going blank — taking the backup camera, warning lights, and controls with it — you're experiencing a recalled defect. If Lincoln's software fix doesn't hold, your Nautilus may qualify as a California lemon.

The Defect

The Nautilus blank display screen problem

The redesigned Nautilus is built around a massive panoramic display that stretches across the dashboard, plus a center touchscreen. Lincoln recalled more than 33,000 model-year 2024 Nautilus SUVs (Ford recall 25C21) because a multimedia-module software fault can cause the panoramic and center screens to reboot and go blank. When the screens black out, the driver loses the instrument-panel readouts, warning lights, and the backup-camera image — a safety problem that the recall notes violates multiple federal safety standards.

Because so many of the Nautilus's core functions live on those screens — speed and gauge readouts, climate, drive information, and the rear camera — a blank display isn't a cosmetic glitch. Owners have reported the screens freezing, flickering, and restarting on their own, and Lincoln addressed the problem with a software update, including over-the-air updates, that hasn't resolved the issue for every owner.

The Nautilus has also been recalled for a separate electrical issue: on hybrid models, a software error in the audio and digital-signal-processing modules can keep the pedestrian alert sound from playing at low speeds in electric mode (Ford recall 25SA2), so people may not hear the vehicle approaching. When a display or electrical defect keeps coming back after repeated repair attempts, California's Lemon Law may entitle you to a buyback or replacement.

Known Issues

Commonly Reported Lincoln Nautilus Problems

Panoramic and center displays rebooting and going blank (Ford recall 25C21)
Loss of the backup-camera image, gauges, and warning lights when the screens black out
Screens freezing, flickering, or restarting on their own after software updates
Pedestrian alert sound not playing at low speed in electric mode on hybrids (Ford recall 25SA2)
Repeat multimedia or electrical repairs that never fully fix the problem

Not every Lincoln Nautilus is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.

Your Rights

Is Your Lincoln Nautilus a Lemon?

A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your Nautilus has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.

If your Lincoln Nautilus qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and Lincoln pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.

Common Questions

Lincoln Nautilus Lemon Law FAQs

Is the Lincoln Nautilus blank-screen problem a California Lemon Law claim?

It can be. The panoramic and center display defect was recalled (Ford recall 25C21) on more than 33,000 2024 Nautilus SUVs, but a recall alone isn't a lemon. If the software fix doesn't stop the screens from rebooting, the problem keeps returning, or your Nautilus spends an extended time in the shop, you may be entitled to a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement, with Lincoln paying your attorney fees.

Why is a blank Nautilus screen a safety issue and not just an annoyance?

When the displays go blank you lose the instrument-panel gauges, warning lights, and the backup-camera image — which is why the recall states it violates multiple federal safety standards. Keep every repair order and note each date the screens failed so you can document a potential lemon claim.

What can I recover for a defective Lincoln Nautilus?

Potentially a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — plus your attorney fees paid by Lincoln. There's no cost to you to pursue a claim.
