Lamborghini Huracán Lemon Law

Talk to a Lamborghini lemon law attorney — your Lamborghini Huracán may qualify for a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement.

If your Lamborghini Huracán has slipped or hesitated in gear, leaked transmission oil, or lost its rearview camera in cold weather, these are documented problems — not just bad luck. When the dealer can't fix a warranty defect after a fair number of attempts, your Huracán may qualify as a California lemon.

The Defect

The Huracán dual-clutch and drivetrain defect

The Huracán's dual-clutch transmission is central to how it drives, and it has been a source of trouble. Lamborghini recalled certain 2020–2022 Huracán EVO and 2022 Huracán STO models under NHTSA campaign 22V220 because the gearbox could contain an insufficient amount of transmission oil, leading to clutch slippage and, in some conditions, an oil leak. Clutch slippage can cause a loss of drive power, and leaking oil near hot exhaust components raises the risk of fire — so the remedy was a dealer inspection and correction of the oil level.

Owners also report a range of other issues across the Huracán line: infotainment and rearview-camera glitches (an earlier recall covered a camera that wouldn't display below about 41°F), erratic warning lights, and drivetrain and clutch behavior that never feels fully resolved. On a low-volume, hand-built supercar, parts can be backordered for weeks, keeping the car off the road.

California's Lemon Law isn't limited to the recalled transmission-oil issue. If your Huracán has any warranty-covered defect — drivetrain, electronics, or build quality — and the dealer can't repair it after a reasonable number of attempts, or the car is out of service for an extended period, you may be owed a buyback, a replacement, or a cash settlement, with Lamborghini paying your attorney fees. A repair that doesn't hold or a fault that keeps recurring is the classic lemon pattern.

Known Issues

Commonly Reported Lamborghini Huracán Problems

Clutch slippage, hesitation, or loss of drive power from a dual-clutch fault
Transmission oil leaks, including fire-risk leaks near hot exhaust parts
Rearview camera not displaying, especially in cold weather
Infotainment glitches, erratic warning lights, and electronic faults
Repeat failures after a warranty repair, or long waits for backordered parts

Not every Lamborghini Huracán is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.

Your Rights

Is Your Lamborghini Huracán a Lemon?

A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your Huracán has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.

If your Lamborghini Huracán qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and Lamborghini pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.

Common Questions

Lamborghini Huracán Lemon Law FAQs

Is the Huracán transmission-oil problem covered by California's Lemon Law?

It can be. Insufficient gearbox oil that causes clutch slippage and leaks prompted NHTSA recall 22V220 on certain Huracán EVO and STO models, but a recall alone isn't a lemon. If the fix doesn't hold, the slippage or leak returns, or your Huracán sits waiting for parts, you may be entitled to a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement — with Lamborghini paying your attorney fees.

My Huracán slips in gear and loses power. Is that a safety defect?

Yes. Clutch slippage and loss of drive power are serious safety concerns, which California treats more seriously and which generally require fewer failed repair attempts to qualify. Have the repair performed, keep your repair records, and get a free case review.

How much does a Huracán lemon law case cost me?

Nothing out of pocket. Under California's Lemon Law, Lamborghini pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so you can pursue a buyback or replacement without paying upfront.
