INEOS Grenadier Lemon Law

Talk to a INEOS lemon law attorney — your INEOS Grenadier may qualify for a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement.

If your INEOS Grenadier has developed a steering problem, an electrical fault, a door that won't stay latched, or another defect the dealer can't fix, you may have a California lemon — even from a small, new-to-the-U.S. brand.

The Defect

The Grenadier steering, electrical, and door-latch problems

INEOS recalled certain 2023–2024 Grenadier SUVs (NHTSA 25V147) because non-locking nuts may have been mistakenly installed on the steering rod ball joint. A loose or missing nut can let the ball joint disconnect from the steering knuckle, causing a loss of steering while driving — one of the most dangerous defects a vehicle can have.

Separately, certain 2024 Grenadiers with the auxiliary switch package can have the relay control wire pinched under a fastener during assembly, damaging the insulation and risking a short circuit and fire; and some 2024 door button mechanisms were assembled without enough grease, so a door may not fully latch and can open while the vehicle is moving. In NHTSA complaint data, owners most often flag the electrical system, powertrain, and service brakes.

As a rugged, expensive off-roader still early in its U.S. life, the Grenadier's teething problems can be significant, and parts and service can take time. If a substantial safety defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of repair attempts, or the vehicle is out of service for an extended time, California's Lemon Law may entitle you to a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement — with INEOS paying your attorney fees.

Known Issues

Commonly Reported INEOS Grenadier Problems

Steering rod ball joint can disconnect → loss of steering (NHTSA 25V147)
Auxiliary-switch relay wiring short → fire risk
Doors that won't fully latch and can open while driving
Electrical system faults and warning lights
Powertrain and service-brake complaints
Extended downtime waiting on parts for a low-volume vehicle

Not every INEOS Grenadier is affected. Any substantial, warranty-covered defect that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts — or that keeps your vehicle out of service — may support a claim.

Your Rights

Is Your INEOS Grenadier a Lemon?

A recall is not automatically a lemon — it's the manufacturer acknowledging a defect and offering a free repair. California's Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Act) comes into play when a substantial defect can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, or when your Grenadier has been out of service for 30 or more cumulative days.

If your INEOS Grenadier qualifies, you may be entitled to a buyback (a refund of what you've paid, minus a mileage offset), a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement — and INEOS pays your attorney fees on a successful claim, so pursuing your case costs you nothing out of pocket.

Common Questions

INEOS Grenadier Lemon Law FAQs

Was my INEOS Grenadier recalled?

Certain 2023–2024 Grenadiers were recalled (NHTSA 25V147) over steering rod ball-joint nuts that can loosen and cause a loss of steering. Some 2024 Grenadiers also had recalls for an auxiliary-switch wiring short (fire risk) and door latches that may not fully close. Confirm your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

My Grenadier keeps having problems — is it a lemon?

Not automatically. But if a substantial defect — steering, electrical, brakes, powertrain — can't be fixed after a reasonable number of repair attempts, or your Grenadier is out of service for an extended time, you may have a California lemon law claim, potentially a buyback, replacement, or cash settlement, with INEOS paying your attorney fees.

Does California's Lemon Law cover a small brand like INEOS?

Yes. The Lemon Law applies to any new vehicle sold with a manufacturer's warranty in California, no matter how small or new the brand is. If your Grenadier qualifies, INEOS is responsible for the buyback, replacement, or cash settlement and pays your attorney fees.

What can I recover for a defective Grenadier?

Potentially a buyback (a refund minus a mileage offset), a replacement, or a cash-and-keep settlement — plus your attorney fees paid by INEOS, at no cost to you.
